Hector Ferronato is Vice President of Engineering and Geospatial at Reveal Global Consulting, where he leads large multidisciplinary teams building AI, geospatial, and computer vision solutions that turn satellite imagery into measurable business value. He specializes in applying geospatial AI to real-world operational problems, helping organizations move from raw imagery to decision-ready insight at scale.
Since 2019, Hector has helped lead Reveal’s support for the U.S. Census Bureau’s Survey of Construction modernization effort, an ongoing initiative that uses satellite imagery, AI, and computer vision to improve how housing starts and construction activity are measured. That work is high impact: New Residential Construction, commonly known as housing starts, is one of the Census Bureau’s principal federal economic indicators, and Census materials describe it as one of the highly sensitive indicators. It is also closely tied to residential investment, which feeds into GDP, making it an economic release that policymakers, economists, and financial markets watch closely.
Under Hector’s leadership, Reveal has built capabilities to segment imagery into property stages such as excavation, foundation, framing, unfinished roof, and completed roof; classify sites by building type across residential and non-residential categories, with continued work to sharpen residential-versus-commercial distinctions; and generate geospatial boundary information such as site extents, structure polygons, and related footprint-level outputs. His teams have also developed expertise across multiple imagery resolutions and sensing approaches, including high-resolution tasking, lower-resolution imagery, and super-resolution workflows designed to extend coverage and operational feasibility.
Hector is known for combining executive leadership with hands-on technical depth, translating advanced satellite imagery and computer vision methods into scalable systems that improve measurement, modernize workflows, and deliver real value for mission-driven organizations.
